Gateway WIC program services available

Gateway Community Action Partnership operates the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children (WIC) in Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties.   The program provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, lactation support, immunization education and health care referrals to income-eligible pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children up to age 5.   Gateway WIC serves more than 21,000 clients annually through flexible hours through its nine (9) offices. However, due to the COVID19 pandemic, staff will certify participants over the phone and mail them their WIC Vouchers.   WIC is an equal opportunity employer and provider. Head Start families to be “hands on” with Barn Studio in Millville

Children from Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Head Start programs and their families will take part in a virtual “hands on” pottery experience with The Barn Studio of Art, 814 Whitaker Ave., Millville this winter. Barn Studio activities for Gateway’s centers includes 184 children from Cumberland County Head Start centers from November 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023. Children in the River’s Edge Head Start and Cheryl Chadwick Early Learning Center in Bridgeton, as well as students at the Vineland II and Vineland III Head Start centers will participate. Children will enjoy a hands-on clay arts experience and a gallery showing and creative art experience as part of the program.
